Isaac’s remnants continue to hang around and dominate our forecast…this is your PM discussion for Monday, September 3, 2012. I hope you’ve had a good Labor Day.
At 3:06 PM, scattered showers continue across the metro Cincinnati area. As we go into the evening, I do think the coverage will ramp down. Cannot rule out a rain chance overnight…but a lot of us should become dry. Temperatures aren’t rising or falling much because of all the clouds and showers Isaac’s leftovers have brought. That will remain the case tonight – I expect lows to drop only into the lower 70’s.
Tuesday: The surface low, which is what’s left of Isaac will finally be kicked east by a trough of low pressure. Until that moves east, we’re going to maintain a chance of showers and an isolated thunderstorm. Highs on Tuesday will range from 83 in the east (i.e. Maysville, West Union, Georgetown, Brooksville) to closer to 88 in the west (i.e. Carrollton, Owenton, Warsaw, all of southeast Indiana) where I think we may have a shot at some clearing.
Tuesday Night to Thursday: Finally…a breather. I think I will go dry with Wednesday’s forecast…though a cold front will push east heading into Thursday, I don’t really see much to write home about. Temperatures through this period will be between 85-90 for highs, with lows in the 60s.
Friday-Sunday: Okay, things get a bit wet again on Friday night/Saturday…but I think right now I can leave Sunday’s forecast dry. Friday’s highs will be around 80. That being said…the big story will be a big drop in highs on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, this drop will be helped along by clouds and precipitation – consequently, I’m going low 70’s for highs Saturday. But Sunday? Middle 70’s. I think most of us would take that, don’t you? I certainly cannot complain about it.
