Wednesday Morning 9/19 Forecast: Starting Cold, Warming Up Later

It’s starting out as a cold day, but it gets better from here as the week finishes! Welcome to your Wednesday morning forecast discussion for September 19, 2012!

TODAY-THURSDAY NIGHT: As I write this at 4:15 AM, we’re in the lower 40’s across the area. That’s the kind of weather that causes joint pain for some people…and believe me, I feel that pain like you. We’re set up for a nice, if slightly chilly, dry day though, with highs around 68. Winds will be variable this morning but very light, starting to spin around toward the south in the afternoon. Tonight will be similar to Tuesday night, with lows in the middle 40’s, as winds switch to the south. Tomorrow the forecast is pretty much a carbon copy of today, except warmer on the aforementioned southerly winds. We’ll end up around 74. By Thursday night the next front starts its slow approach, so I’m increasing clouds just a little bit and going partly cloudy with lows also a bit warmer as a result…around 51.

FRIDAY-SATURDAY: This is the timeframe for our next system. Friday night is starting to look wet with a rather complex system — an upper level system quickly dropping out of the upper Plains, and a surface low in the Great Lakes. Right now I don’t think it rains everywhere all day on Saturday. That said, that’s starting to change so stay tuned! Highs on Friday will reach 77 with good warm air advection. Saturday, I think we’re around 68, with the aforementioned chance of rain especially for the first half of the day. Lows will be around 53 on Friday night and then around 48 Saturday night.

SUNDAY-TUESDAY: I do believe we’re dry in this timeframe under partly cloudy skies. Highs will end up in the middle 60’s, around 66 on Sunday and the upper 60’s to near 70 on Monday and Tuesday. Lows in this period will likely be between 45 and 50.

You don’t necessarily need to follow those links as there are widgets on the site — but if for some reason one of those Facebook and/or Twitter widgets on the right side breaks, that’s why I include the links here. NEXT DISCUSSION: My next update will be around 5:00 tonight barring things getting crazy busy. Until then, take care and stay warm!
