Here is a brief forecast update concerning tonight’s frost potential…the remainder of the forecast is unchanged from this morning.
As of 5:30 PM, the high for the day had reached 64 at 3:15 PM. We will clear things out rapidly this evening. With calm winds, temperatures should respond by falling into the middle 30’s overnight. I now think most locations will be between 33 and 37. Having said that, if you live in a spot that tends to be colder than surrounding areas, you MAY end up below freezing for a very short period tonight! Either way, a widespread frost is LIKELY. There continues to be a FROST ADVISORY from 2-10 AM tomorrow across the entire NKYWx coverage area. That includes Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson Counties in NKY; Dearborn, Fayette, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland and Union Counties in southeastern Indiana; and Adams, Brown, Butler, Clermont, Clinton, Hamilton, Highland, and Warren counties in Southwestern Ohio. (Related note: I really should list that coverage area on the About page.) Parts of Central Ohio east of Columbus are now under a FREEZE WARNING for that time period.
Please remember to protect any plants that are normally susceptible to the cold, and go ahead and bring the pets inside, too.
The next update will be as scheduled Monday morning around 6 AM. Until then, stay warm and enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening!
