Wednesday 10/3 Forecast Discussion: Stubborn Clouds

Yes, those clouds are hanging on…how long will that last? Welcome to your Wednesday morning discussion for October 3, 2012.

TODAY-THURSDAY: The clouds are hanging in there stubbornly this morning, but there’s still some very nice weather in store. Look for highs around 74 today as skies clear south to north and 78 on Thursday. Lows will be around 58.

THURSDAY NIGHT-SATURDAY NIGHT: The forecast is coming into better agreement here. I keep Thursday night dry. Rain chances are increased for Friday through Saturday night, because it looks like the cold front pushes through on Friday, then gets hung up near here Friday night as several pulses of energy ride along it. Both days are beginning to look, unfortunately, like washouts. Temperatures will be on a general (and rapid) downhill trend, from 67 on Friday to 58 on Saturday, with lows in the mid 50’s Friday and upper 40’s Saturday.

SUNDAY-TUESDAY: I still think Sunday is dry, so we’ll salvage the latter half of the weekend in terms of not dealing with rain, and a decent Monday in terms of sunshine. The bad news? It won’t feel so nice. I’m going 55 on Sunday and 60 on Monday. Lows both mornings could fall as low as 36, and bring our next chance of frost! I can hear farmers out there screaming, “NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!” I’m with you…a little chilly for me. Tuesday is a little better (not much) — with lows near 40 and highs around 62.
