It was definitely a cold one this morning, but a warmup is on the way! Welcome to a late edition of the Monday morning forecast for October 8, 2012!
TODAY-TUESDAY: At 10:00, we are seeing partly cloudy skies north of the river. South of the Ohio River, there’s a cirrus deck in place that has thickened up and brought mostly cloudy skies. If that does not erode, some places will struggle to get above 55. I’m going 56, but that’s it. Lows this morning crashed into the lower 30’s in a lot of places with a few locations even into the UPPER 20’S! Into Tuesday, we do start to warm things up with highs close to 60. Tuesday morning could be a frosty one again with a low around 38.
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY: Wednesday morning, the frost threat is much less with lows in the 40’s. Along with that, another quick system will push through on Wednesday morning. Guidance has trended drier with this one, so the rain chance looks low…almost too low to mention, but I’ll leave it. I did pull the rain chance yesterday, and ended up seeing a shower in Colerain Township, Hamilton County as I passed through around 9:30. Oops, I blew that one. Highs on Wednesday will also be in the 60’s. if you’re headed to watch the Reds in the NLDS Tuesday (or for that matter if games 4 and 5 are needed Wednesday and Thursday and you have tickets for those), you’ll be fine in terms of staying dry, but definitely take the sweaters.
THURSDAY: At this point, Thursday still looks dry, with highs in the low 60’s.
FRIDAY-SUNDAY: I’m still going with a warmup through this period. HOWEVER while Friday and Saturday will stay dry, Sunday…not so much. I need to put that pesky weekend rain chance back in. And at this point, it looks like it might be quite a soaker as a cold front swings through, with showers and thunderstorms. Stay tuned on this one…it could affect the Bengals game Sunday.

NEXT DISCUSSION: I’m back tonight by 7 at the latest with another update. Until then, stay warm and have a great day!
