Another cold night across our area…but the warmer air arrives today! Welcome to your Friday morning forecast for November 9, 2012!
TODAY-SUNDAY: Let me first mention that throughout this period we will remain dry and, indeed, we should be mostly sunny. We will begin today with very light winds, but they’ll swing around to the south today. Temperatures should bounce to near 60. That continues on Saturday, and here’s where the south wind really comes into play. I’m going with 65 on Saturday, and 69 on Sunday.
MONDAY: By midday Monday a front will be just west of us. This will sweep through on Monday night. The latest models indicate very low instability, leading to an atmosphere that at the very least cannot support severe storms, and at worst is downright hostile for them. Of course, that may change (but is unlikely to), so stay tuned. Look for highs on Monday around 64.
TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY: Back to reality…lows in the lower 30’s, and highs AT BEST in the upper 40’s. Might need to watch Tuesday morning for a few flakes of snow as the aforementioned storm gets outta here. Models are a little faster with the front’s progression, and it might well be out of here before the cold air can spill in. Again, that’s something to stay tuned about.
THURSDAY: Looking dry again, and we’ll get on the backside of high pressure…temperatures should be back into the 50-53 degree range.

A REQUEST TO OUR READERS: The Red Cross still needs a lot of help. They deal with a lot of disasters, but Sandy was a once in a lifetime event for the northeast…and the damage is extensive (and this week’s nor’easter probably hasn’t helped). They need help to get the residents of NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, and CT back on their feet. I encourage you, please go to redcross.org and make a donation, or text “SANDY” to 90999 and a $10 donation will be added to your phone bill. Also, a Sunday post I wrote has information about donating to Matthew 25 Ministries if you want to send actual supplies to the coast, or to volunteer to organize supplies. Let’s get the northeast back on their feet.
NEXT UPDATE: Our next update will be either tonight or tomorrow morning. Until then, take care!
