Monday 11/12 Forecast: From Nice to Frigid

A big temperature drop is expected today…what should you look for? Here’s your forecast for Monday, November 12, 2012!

TODAY: We’ll have showers through the day today. Temperatures will start out around 60 at 6 am…but will crash to the upper 30’s, yes I said THIRTIES, by evening. Cannot rule out a few flakes of snow or some ice pellets as this cold air catches the back end of the precip. I don’t see roads being a major problem UNLESS there is standing water on them — if that were to happen, we *may* have issues. Extreme caution might be advised especially on bridges and overpasses which freeze quickest overnight, just in case. I’d rather be overly cautious than not mention the very low possibility of such a thing and then have it happen.

TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY: Back to reality…lows in the upper 20’s and highs AT BEST in the upper 40’s under sunny skies.

THURSDAY-SATURDAY: Looking dry again, and we’ll get on the backside of high pressure…temperatures should be back into the 50-55 range for highs. Unfortunately lows won’t be much warmer and in fact may stay below 35 all week.

A REQUEST TO OUR READERS: The Red Cross still needs a lot of help. They deal with a lot of disasters, but Sandy was a once in a lifetime event for the northeast…and the damage is extensive (and this week’s nor’easter probably hasn’t helped). They need help to get the residents of NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, and CT back on their feet. I encourage you, please go to redcross.org and make a donation, or text “SANDY” to 90999 and a $10 donation will be added to your phone bill. Also, a post I wrote last Sunday has information about donating to Matthew 25 Ministries if you want to send actual supplies to the coast, or to volunteer to organize supplies. Let’s get the northeast back on their feet.

NEXT UPDATE: Our next update will be tonight. Until then, take care!

Jeremy
