Well, you knew the dry stretch would not last. Welcome to your Saturday forecast for December 15, 2012! Wow, are we already HALFWAY through the last month of 2012? (No “end of the world in 6 days” comments, please. 😉 Just saying.)
TODAY: The next front moves towards us. I expect things to get rather wet with scattered rain showers. The timing will vary…it may rain at any time during the day in our western counties, while east of town the morning might be okay with a rather soggy afternoon. Highs will be in the lower 50’s. I expect lows tonight in the lower 40’s.
SUNDAY: The rain chance persists for tomorrow morning, but NOW it looks like the afternoon might be dry and we salvage a decent second half of the weekend! Highs will be in the upper 50’s to lower 60’s.
MONDAY: Looking rather soggy on Monday as a result of the expected break Sunday. Look for highs in the middle 50’s… I just can’t go for the 60 that the numerical guidance shows for a high. It’s too warm.
TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY: This period suddenly got quite unsettled. Recall that we weren’t seeing this yesterday. We were seeing a break on Tuesday and Wednesday, but it now looks like a chance of rain each day with highs in the middle 40’s. I don’t think it rains all day either day, but the chance hangs around.
THURSDAY/FRIDAY: As we go into Thursday and Friday, we get the next storm system…and oh boy, talk about a change. We will have highs in the lower 50’s once again on Thursday. That is ahead of a cold front which pushes through late day…and then the bottom falls out. Friday’s highs AT BEST may be in the middle 30’s, and we may have some snow showers around even as far south as Boone, Kenton and Campbell Counties. Stay tuned on that, but what a way to kick off the winter! Friday night, to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised to have lows all the way into the upper TEENS into the Cincinnati metro. That’s how cold this air mass gets.
