My apologies for being late today. Your friendly weather nerd isn’t quite awake yet! But, I soldier on, so here’s your Sunday update for December 16, 2012!
REMAINDER OF TODAY: Looking like we squeak out a decent afternoon! Highs will be in the lower 60’s.
MONDAY: Looking rather soggy on Monday as a result of the expected break today. Look for highs in the middle 50’s… I still just can’t go for the 60 that the numerical guidance shows for a high. With clouds and precipitation around, that’s just too high. Even my middle 50’s may be too high, pending when the rain moves in!
TUESDAY-WEDNESDAY: Okay, these models have no clue. They flipped back to drying things out. We’ll leave a slight chance of precipitation in, particularly both early Tuesday (which will probably be flurries) and late Wednesday (rain chance with the next system). Highs will be in the upper 40’s and low 50’s.
THURSDAY/FRIDAY: As we go into Thursday and Friday, we get the next storm system…and oh boy, talk about a change. We will have highs in the lower 50’s once again on Thursday. That is ahead of a cold front which pushes through in the afternoon…and then the bottom falls out. Friday’s highs AT BEST may be in the middle 30’s, and we may have some snow showers around. Stay tuned on that, but what a way to kick off the winter! Friday night, to be honest, I wouldn’t be surprised to have lows all the way into the upper TEENS into the Cincinnati metro. That’s how cold this air mass gets.
