WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for everyone except Mason and Lewis counties in NKY 7 PM tonight to 1 PM Saturday…
We have another cold day and some more snow on tap this weekend! Here’s your Friday morning forecast for December 28, 2012!
TODAY: I expect dry weather today, with cold temperatures once more. I think we’ll still be in the lower 30’s…to me upper 30’s like NWS Wilmington is saying still seems a bit warm with the snowpack to the northwest.
TONIGHT AND SATURDAY: Another storm moves in, and this one should be a snowy one. I believe precipitation holds off until sometime this evening. Snowfall accumulations of 3-5 inches are probable by the time snow ends in most areas, save our southeast counties which will see rain and snow mixed through a good portion of the event leading to lower totals closer to 1-3″. I believe that precipitation will continue through a good portion of Saturday afternoon and that snow to liquid ratios may also be higher due to colder temperatures, thus my higher snowfall totals. I am going with lows around 24 tonight and a high recovering on Saturday to at best 30.
SUNDAY: As we close in on the final days of 2012, I expect dry weather again. We will likely keep highs in the upper 20’s for the Bengals regular season finale! Brrrrr!
MONDAY INTO NEW YEAR’S DAY: A dry day for Monday, but indications are that another quick shot of some kind of wintry precipitation will be around as we ring in 2013 Monday night and Tuesday. Although guidance suggests that this too will be in the form of snow, it’s way too early to grasp at specifics until we get through tonight and tomorrow. Highs will be around 32, with lows in the upper teens.
