Thursday 1/3 Morning Forecast: A Minor Monkey Wrench This Weekend, Otherwise Warming

TODAY AND FRIDAY: Lows will be in the middle teens and highs at best in the upper 20’s to lower 30’s once again as skies will be partly cloudy.

THE WEEKEND: Cold continues to be the word that describes this period. Lows will be near 16 on Saturday morning, and around 20 on Sunday. Highs will be in the lower to middle 30’s. If you live north of town or in any area that tends to get colder, I can’t rule out falling closer to 10 degrees Saturday and again, if winds calm down, temperatures could be colder across the board. There has been a slight monkey wrench thrown into things for Saturday — model guidance wants to bring a slight chance of rain or snow to everyone near and south of the river. I don’t think this is a big deal IF it happens — and I just don’t buy it happening. If anything were to accumulate, it’d be less than 1″. Sunday remains dry and partly cloudy.

MONDAY: Given that we have melted a good bit of snow, I think highs near 40 may be more realistic with sunny skies.

TUESDAY-THURSDAY: Things continue to warm up with highs in the 40’s and lows in the 20’s. Looks like a January Thaw to me.
