The warmup is slow, but it’s steady as we move through your workweek! Here’s your Tuesday morning forecast for January 8, 2013!
TODAY: With high pressure still around, expect partly cloudy skies and a high around 42.
WEDNESDAY: We continue to warm up with highs around 46 and lows around 28. I still have us dry.
THURSDAY: The next chance of rain looks to occur getting into Thursday, with a high around 50 after a low in the upper 20’s or near 30. I am going to watch for the possibility of some heavy rain, which may also cause problems this weekend.
FRIDAY: It looks like we’re dry, albeit mostly cloudy on Friday with highs nearing 60! Lows may be as high as the lower 40’s.
THIS WEEKEND AND MONDAY: Another front crashes in this weekend with a chance of rain. I look for this rain chance to ramp up beginning, unfortunately, Saturday afternoon and continuing through the rest of the weekend. There may be periods of locally heavy rainfall — and I’d watch those small streams and creeks with all of the snowmelt plus this week’s rain. Saturday may just be the peak day of the warmup — how about a high of 63?? Sunday will see a cool down with a high back into the lower 50’s. Finally, all of the rain exits Monday morning, but not before possibly mixing in some snow flurries. Highs on Monday will be near 40. So, plan some indoor activities this weekend!
LONGER RANGE: Models still have the thaw ending later this month, with plenty of snow left to fall. So, if you liked what we got at the end of December, you’ll probably like the end of January. Of course, this is still a ways out and, as we’ve said all along, it is subject to change.
