Thursday 1/31 Evening Update: Snow May Cause Issues Tonight

TONIGHT: Snow showers should continue, especially south and east of Cincinnati tonight. Accumulations of 1-2″ are possible tonight south of the metro with lesser amounts in the metro and north — for this reason, the counties of Owen, Grant, Pendleton, Bracken, Mason, Lewis, and Robertson in KY and Adams and Scioto counties in Ohio have a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY until 4 AM. Areas in the NWS Louisville coverage area have an advisory until 2 AM. This snow could cause a few issues with slick roads and reduced visibility, so be careful. Lows will end up in the lower teens tonight. Along with those lows, winds may gust high enough (25-35 MPH) that we could see wind chills to -10.

FRIDAY: Expect dry weather again during the day, but we’ve adjusted the high DOWN to the upper teens. Yes, back in the freezer. Lows tomorrow night won’t be a lot better than tonight…only 14 at best. We could also have a snow shower or two late at night with the next storm coming in.

SATURDAY: Snow showers remain in the forecast. Look for highs around 29, with lows near 20 Saturday night. I’m not so bullish on highs in the lower 30’s now.

SUNDAY: The models leave a chance of scattered snow showers around. Interesting, and not sure that I can’t buy into this, particularly if there’s upper air support. Otherwise, we’ll be mostly cloudy. Temperatures will be close to freezing — I’m going 33. Lows Sunday night fall off to the upper teens again I think.

MONDAY: The latest models actually have Monday dry at this point. I’m inclined to leave a chance of snow in. I’m also sticking with highs in the middle 30’s. Remember what I’ve said the last couple days about the guidance being too warm for the expected situation? Yeah…it came down. It’s now showing a high of just 34 on Monday. I like this number a bit more.

TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY: I am going to keep things partly cloudy and highs in the middle 30’s with lows in the upper teens to low 20’s.
