After snow that caught more than a few weather folks (and yours truly) off guard, a dry day is in store before more wintry weather this weekend! Here’s your forecast for Friday, February 1, 2013!
TODAY: Expect dry weather again during the day. I’m concerned that temperatures today may struggle given the fresh snow cover, but I will go with a high of 19. Lows tonight won’t be a lot better than last night…only 15 at best. We could also have a snow shower or two really late tonight with the next storm coming in.
SATURDAY: Snow showers remain in the forecast with that aforementioned storm. Early indications suggest this one could drop a couple inches of snow on us — but stay tuned! Look for highs around 29, with lows near 17 Saturday night (I’m adjusting down a bit on lows). I’m not so bullish on highs in the lower 30’s, especially since we just got an inch to 2″ of snow last night. So, I’ll come back to the title question, “Will the groundhog see his shadow Saturday morning?” I think he could, but more likely he sees the snow instead. 🙂
SUNDAY: The models have another system dropping quickly in behind the Saturday one — so the chance of snow continues. By the time the weekend is over…well, I can’t rule out some spots having several inches of snow on the ground. Temperatures will be close to freezing — I’m going 33. Lows Sunday night fall off to the upper teens again I think.
MONDAY: The latest models actually have Monday dry at this point. I am going to go with them — as it seems fairly consistent. BUT — I am nudging temperatures down. Why? Fresh snow cover. Going with 30 for a high.
TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY: I am going to keep things partly cloudy and highs in the lower 30’s at best with lows in the upper teens to low 20’s.
