After unexpected snowfall yesterday (thanks largely due to evaporative cooling that I did NOT take into account), a dry but warmer day is in store! Here’s the forecast for this Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14, 2013!
TODAY: I know many folks will have evening plans focused on their significant other for Valentine’s Day tonight. I expect dry, but cloudy skies and highs in the middle 40’s (I’m going 46) today. Then, evening temperatures start around 40 for your dinner plans at 7 PM, falling to 38 by 10 or 11 PM. I just can’t rule out that more of the sunshine we have today goes to melting snow instead of warming things up, which is why I hesitate to go any higher. However, a south wind may balance that out so I can’t totally rule out closing in on 50 here or there.
FRIDAY: We become mostly cloudy with temperatures around 43 after lows around 28. We will also have some snow showers around with a quick little front — and it might drop an inch or so of slushy accumulation. We will watch this closely.
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: We will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 20’s to lower 30’s and lows in the upper teens to lower 20’s.
MONDAY AND TUESDAY: The next storm will move in by this time. As things stand, this appears to be another “rain to snow” scenario barring temperatures doing something like they did yesterday. Highs will be in the lower 40’s and lows end up in the upper 20’s.
